Hello, world!

I am a Product Designer named Syd_

I'm Sydney, an empathic product designer with expertise in all phases of the design approach, from conceptualization and user research to prototyping and deployment. My design philosophy is based on discovering the human element in each endeavor.

Case Studies_

Ancestry - Know Your Pet DNA

I lead the design for the Health and Breeds kit, an intuitive health product aimed at simplifying complex medical results for pet owners, for Know Your Pet DNA. A simple, clean design was imperative for a successful understanding of a pet's genetic data.

Node Engine

At Nerd United, I was the head product designer for Node Engine, a Web3 hosting service. Node Engine was created to take current Web3 multistep hosting service to just be a few simple clicks. Node Engine was made with the idea that could reclaim the 3rd party userbase back if we created an in-house solution.

Fleet - Redesign

At Nerd United, I was the head product designer for Node Engine, a Web3 hosting service. After the launch of Node Engine, we quickly rebranded. Fleet identified the lacking areas of Node Engine (mobile responsiveness and lack of user trust) and tackled those areas for improvement.

Johnson STEM

Through Brigham Young University's Sandbox class, my group and I designed a new web form for Johnson STEM, an after school center located in Atlanta, Georgia, to track students and manage demographic data.

about_

Human attention to the user's experience

With 5+ years of experience, I specialize in end-to-end product development, user research, SaaS B2C creation, wireframing and prototyping. Being in the design sphere for 10+ years now, I have also become extremely proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.

My main passion is designing with the user in mind.  I believe that users reside at the core of everything a business should do and great design advocates for their experience. Even though we might work with computers every day,  we have to realize that a human designed that for a fellow human. Design work is a series of connecting with your fellow man.
